This woman walked through traffic carrying the treats on her head. Both practices (buying/selling in the street and carrying loads on the head) are common Right image: Purchasing fresh produce

MEAL TIME

Pictures of foods we enjoyed! Many were used in the creation of one dish, an egg stew which is displayed in the top left image along with boiled plantains. Bottom middle image is the grinding of ingredients in a traditional dish, which adds more flavor to the stew.

Fufu and Light Soup enjoyed by Nketia (left) and Sarah, Molly and I (on Christmas Day). These meals were enjoyed on different occasions. Fufu is a traditional dish of the Akan people made of boiled plantains and cassava. Enjoyed with your (clean) right hand.
